Thankful Sunday--February 21, 2015

I am thankful for my entertaining cats.

Lucky

I have been featuring the cats on my blog recently because we're spending more time indoors with them. Today we are snowbound, and when we become tired of the TV and working on the taxes, one of them has always been there amusing us with their antics. And for that I am thankful.

  1. Cats love laundry baskets and boxes (and large gift bags)--it's always funny to watch. Enjoy your snowbound weather--sometimes it's nice to have a reason just to hang out around home. :)

    1. Yes, it is nice to not be able to go anywhere. (Of course, unless there's an emergency. We've thinking about how to get my mother out of her house in an emergency.)

I've started the taxes and Ward has started another puzzle, but tomorrow I think all systems are go for work. :(

  2. Awww... the endless kitty variety show, I know it well!

I don't let the cats sleep with me, but Princess gets hungry in the early mornings, and since keeping her weight up is important I've been getting up early to feed them and then going back to bed for a few hours of "beauty sleep" during which I tend to keep the bedroom door open then and let them come in for snuggles. Well, this morning, I woke up literally covered in cats! I'm a side-sleeper, but they managed to get me rolled over onto my back - all together now... heave ho! Anyhow, Jasper was on my legs, Smoky on my belly, and Princess on my neck/face! It was very cute, but made me glad I don't let them sleep with me all night!

    1. Our cats sleep in the basement at night, but after I feed them and let them out, one of them always beelines it to see if my husband is still in bed. He is her favorite person to snuggle with. During the day, if I happen to sit down for any length of time, at least two of them, occasionally three, try to get on my lap at the same time. They usually work something out peacefully, but a swat or hiss has been know to happen.

Everyone with a cat or two or three or four, has a lot of stories to tell about these interesting pets.

  3. I am not a cat person but a dog owns us. She is a large mutt and anything she did not already own has become hers using that possession and 9/10ths of the law thing. Dogs are generally not as cute or inquisitive as cats.

    1. Our cats rule this house also, I'm just glad that we had more discipline raising our kids than we do with our cats.

  4. My cats are endless entertainment and even better, they're great companions. Don't know what I'd do without cats in my family! Love them so!
